I would rather need absolution, than let fear paralyze me from action.
When lip service to some mysterious deity permits bestiality on Wednesday and absolution on Sunday, cash me out.
It is the confession, not the priest, that gives us absolution.

TRACY walked out of a stall with half of a dress on…When I first heard this track, @shafiqhusayn was like, “Daime, you’re gonna rap, you’re a story teller, and your’re gonna tell the world about a bitch. Give her a name” Instantly, the name that came to mind was TRACY. The question I get asked all the time is: Is TRACY a real person? The answer is yes & no. I have a favorite aunt, her name is Tracy. When I was a little daime, she drove a Camaro, was a perfect size 6, played Janet Jackson loud in the car, drove with her knee fast down the freeway so she could put on black eye liner, owned her own home, ran corporations for men that I just knew fantasized about her. She was so fresh, I swore when I grew up I was going to be like her. I based the character/story of TRACY on a conglomerate of daime’s i know, but she is most def the bad ass aunt I remember as a child. Now when you think of the lyrics, this can sound a bit jaunting, “bitch black with the platinum bra”, but the theme of TRACY is that fly daime’s get what they want, when they want it, but you never want to take it so far you get lost in the stuff and forget you. Additionally there are a few re-occurring characters in my songs BOSS BLACK being one of them. The voice you hear with me on the hook is actually @BossBlack_LA she is so raw, it was necessary to have her cadence on the recording. Originally the part of the song where @TazArnold raps was just the beat rocking, but when he heard it he felt it needed a presence, & he was so right. The track then became epic. So for the TRACY in us all: G’ON GIRL DO WHAT YOU DO, FUCK ‘EM GIRL, G’ON DO WHAT YOU DO!

I’m midtown on the East Side of Manhattan, and I come face to face with Diahann Carroll. She has her hair done to the nines, huge movie star glasses, a fur trim on her fabulous wrap, tight black pants, and stilettos. She gives her name for the dinner reservation, and says,” I’ll need two dirty martinis as soon as you can.” with a flashy smile. The hostess seats her at this huge round table, where she is joined by her daughter and grandchildren. She orders a martini, glass of red wine, and a steak. Ms. Carroll finishes everything! Before she can walk out, I have to say something, I mean its Diahann Carroll! I walk up to her and I say, ” Ms. Carroll, I am a fan, and I am so honored to just stand here in your presence, and be able to tell you what an inspiration you are.” She glanced at me and grinned, responding with, ” Thank you dear.” she turns to walk out of the revolving door with her family, and in my fluttered state I continue on, ” And if I may say,” I blurt, ” You are flawless.”
Diahann Carroll turns all the way around to face me, she exhales and smiles before stating:
“Flawless? Dear there is no such thing.”

THE LEADER music video by Rozzi Daime directed by @MrTyHodges was shot in NYC May 1. Ty Hodges & I met several years ago in Hollywood, and have been soul mates ever since. He called me a few weeks ago to tell me he was in NYC for the promotion of his new film VIDEO GIRL (out in theaters now!), and he told me, I have a camera, lets do a video. I sent him two songs, and let him decide. When he heard THE LEADER, he called my cell phone, and sent me an email saying, “WE ARE DOING THIS!” We got together on that Sunday afternoon and shot this video in a day. We solicited the help of my girlfriend in the city @EbonieSimone , that is the store I’m shopping in, she styled the white wig look and they’re her fabulous earrings I’m wearing in the cab (check her out, follow her on twitter). THE LEADER is a song that I wrote and produced and arranged while living in Atlanta. At the time @lilkennybangs1 and I were living together just banging out songs, when he heard THE LEADER he said “the only thing this song is missing is a rap”, so I told him to write it, that is actually his voice saying “I’m just telling the truth” at the end of the rap. He is also singing back round vocals throughout track. I recorded this song on a hot rainy night in the A, windows open, barely any clothes on (if you have ever been in Atlanta in the spring you know how hot it gets), THE LEADER was on my DO THE DAIME THING mix-tape, and everyone was hitting me up about it, wanting to know where they could get the full length song. So for your listening and viewing pleasure, I present THE LEADER. Enjoy!

Rozzi Daime with @OMMASDOTCOM live at Joe’s Pub in NYC performing SUGAR LADY & HOLLYWOOD. It was so fun to special appear with my brother in NYC, we have shared so many stages together, London, Paris, LA, Tokyo, Toronto, Amsterdam, Porto, Chicago and the list goes on and on and on. I always love playing with Om’mas, and in his home town this was especially fun. We were accompanied by @ChelseaBaratz and @IAmRobLewis who are two of the baddest musicians I have ever had the pleasure of performing with. The film was shot by my cousin @SonnyDaze77 for your viewing pleasure.
Enjoy!

There was a time when the only thing women were able to own was jewelry. We as Daimes would have to get married to inherit our wealth. We were only able to have money through a man, be it our father, brother or husband. Those times do not exist anymore. Throughout the ages, jewelry has always stood as a testament and trade to wealth, status, and beauty. Today, we Daimes can own property, stock, businesses, corporations, farms, anything and everything we dream and desire, but the one thing we always take so much pride and joy in; is our jewelry, It defines us. Our jewelry showcases our individuality, and style. A great piece is an extension of our personality, and every rare gem of a Daime, deserves a rare gem to put on. So my darling Daimes & Gents, find your piece that speaks to you, pass it on to your children, heirloom your beauty. You’re worth it.
